Cutter Sleigh 

I Remember...

"When I was 4 years old, I used to ride in a cutter sleigh.  In early 1920 it was our only means of transportation for our family.  Occasionally on Sunday morning if the weather was nice, my parents would dress me in my winter coat, cap, mittens, and overshoes and wrap me in a blanket.  They would sit me between them in the cutter and cover the three of us with a buffalo robe.  Then we would ride up to Rogers to our parish church and visit my aunt and uncle who lived at a nearby farm.  It was always a a very cold ride!"
